Jesus is alive in us and Jesus is alive in me! My journey in life is driven by Jesus, having attended many different churches. Jesus is alive in my heart, mind and spirit at Covenant Christian Hood River. I always have had a position of faith and happiness. I try and share my faith with others. Attending church growing up was my way of life...
Baptized in the First Christian Church in The Dalles, Oregon at the age of 12, I accepted our Lord and Savior. That church introduced me to Rev. Billy Graham and I listened to Dr. Robert Shuler’s teachings as well. I participated in Vacation Bible School, summer camps in the woods, after school Bible studies, service to others and learning about world peace through faith.
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people“. Col 3:23.
Standing in faith I feel grounded. Faith speaks, faith sees and faith stands; thereby all faith components have guided me the past 66 years. Faith, hope and charity are a common thread in my life. During my senior year in high school and early college years my father died 4/1/71. I questioned my faith and did not seek Jesus, he was there for me though; as I look back I was always looking for something that wasn’t there, my dad, but Jesus ‘had me covered” all of the time. HE has always been there for me.
“….be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves, don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too” Phil 2:4.
My mother worked for the Episcopal Bishop of Eastern Oregon, the office was in The Dalles, Oregon. I attended St Paul’s Episcopal Church with my mother and finally St. Marks of Hood River, Or. There I served as member of the Vestry and served on committees i.e. financial endowment, service and ladies guild events. I worshiped with Bishop Rt. Reverend Rustin Kimsey and I met the kind Bishop Rt. Reverend Desmond Tutu. Their mission work was with lay church members, Native American Indians and South Africa Apartheid; I was introduced to more of God’s work that was right in front of me! It all peaked my world interest as to the suffering of those less fortunate, oppression and poverty along with political divide globally.
My faith in God and Jesus’ teachings were strengthened and continue to grow and strengthen my heart for others throughout my journey and my walk in faith, love and hope for mankind. Life Group has sealed my faith and friendships in current times. I am encouraging people to socialize within the church. We are meant to gather and share life experiences.
“Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and...For God is working in YOU, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.” Phil 2 12-13.

SHARING YOUR STORY IS A SIMPLE YET POWERFUL WAY TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS
Sharing your story is a simple yet powerful way to tell people about Jesus. Talking about what He has done for you gives others hope for what they are going through, it’s your verbal expression of how He has changed your life.
