Our Story

Est. 2003.

Born from a desire to impact Hood River and beyond, CHR began in the familiar Luhr Jensen building on the Port. From those humble, bustling beginnings, we outgrew our space and continued to build a home for our growing family.

Our time at the port was defined by connection, from festive 4th of July gatherings to impactful KIDZ events and local outreach. That spirit of growth led us to a new chapter in 2013 when we acquired the historic Frankton School. It’s been our home ever since, allowing us to deepen our roots and our mission.

Since moving into our beautifully renovated space in March 2015, we’ve been on an incredible journey of growth. From local outreach and lively BBQs to our thriving KIDZ and youth ministries, we’re dedicated to serving our community and building a future together.

CHR is proudly affiliated with Grace International, a dynamic network of pastors led by Pastor Steve Riggle of Grace Community Church in Houston. This partnership strengthens our local mission by providing vital fellowship, scriptural accountability, and covering to our leadership.

What a journey it has been!

These photos represent just a small portion of the countless memories woven into the life of our church. Behind every picture is a testimony of lives changed, prayers answered, and God’s hand at work. We look forward to continually updating this gallery—from our humble beginnings to the present day—so that each generation can see the legacy of faith. What a remarkable journey it has been. The Lord has been faithful in every chapter, sustaining and leading us through it all.
